1. Topic-
Dividing functions

2. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1.To reestablish what the students learned about polynomial functions.
2.Have students be able to divide one function from another function.
3.Have students be able to check their work by foiling.

3. Objectives-
1.Have the students show that they comprehend the step-by-step process of dividing functions.
2.The students showing that they can check their work by foiling.
3.Students showing that they can demonstrate basic algebraic skills.

4. Materials and Aids-
Pencil,loose leaf notebook paper,and Graphing Calculator,worksheets

5. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.Define function division
2.Review how to foil with an example problem.
3.Review the definition of terms and degrees for polynomial functions.

B. Development-

1.Look over the section in the textbook with the class.
2.Demonstrate the step-by-step process on how to solve function division sample problems in the textbook on the chalkboard.
3.Demonstrate how to check the answer you came up with via the foiling technique.

C. Practice-

1.Have the students practice on a few problems from the textbook in class.
2.Allow the students time to work together on the problems.
3.After giving the student some time to work on the problems, go over all the problems together as a class.

D. Independent Practice-

1.Give the students worksheets to work on for homework.
2.Have students look over the textbook section covering what we discussed that class period.
3.Have the students also show their work on how to check their answers.

F. Checking for understanding-

1.Have them turn their homework for grading.
2.Have a five problem quiz the following class period for assessment.

G. Closure-

1.After the quiz I will start on the next section in the textbook.
2.I will later return both homework and quiz graded.

6. Evaluation-
1.Plan how much I must review pending on how well the class did on the homework assignment and the quiz.
2.Make up a cumulative chapter test based on the homework assignment and quiz.
