1. Topic-
Pair, Share Equations

2. Content-
One-step equations
Two step equations
Multi step equations

4. Objectives-
1. Students will be able to add, subtract variable equations.
2. Students will be able to multiply and divide equations.
3. Students will be able to solve equations with variables

5. Materials and Aids-
index cards
grid chart
pencil

6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1. Students did a minute multiplication drill.
2. We discussed what we have been working on and what kind of equations we have been working on.
3. We talked about the rules for positive and negative numbers.

B. Development-

1. Gave each student a index card that had an equation and a letter in the corner.
2. Each student received a grid sheet.
3. I explained that the card was their card and not to give it away.

C. Practice-

1. Each student turned their index card over and worked the equation written on the front.
2. I walked around to make sure that all the answers were correct.
3. Each student wrote the answer to their problem in the square on the grid with their corresponding letter.

D. Independent Practice-

1. Each student went to another student and switched cards and worked the problem out in the corresponding square on the grid.
2. Each student helped the other student work through the problem and made sure that it was correct.
3. After finishing the problem the student returned the card and raised their hand. This was a signal that they were ready for another partner.

F. Checking for understanding-

1. As the students continued working I walked around and check the work.
2. The students realized what kind of mistakes they were making.

G. Closure-

1. When it was time to wrap it up some students were not done. I explained that it was all right not to be done.
2. They did not want to stop.

7. Evaluation-
I used the grids for evaluation and each student received participation points.
