3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1. Student will be able to identify place value.
2. Student will be able to visually show their understanding of fractions by shading in the given fraction amount.
3. Student will be able to complete at least 3 pages of the work packet on his own.

4. Objectives-
1. The objective for this lesson is that the student be able to identify place value.
2. Understand what fractions mean and show their understanding in their work.
3. Complete assignments with little to know help.

5. Materials and Aids-
White board with dry erase markers, pencil, paper and work packet.

6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1. I will introduce student to the material by asking leading questions to determine what the student knows already.
2. I will then go over areas that the student is unfamiliar with in more detail.
3. I will help the student with a couple problems before allowing him to do the rest on his own.

B. Development-

1. I will use the white board to demonstrate how to discover place value.
2. I will use the white board to show the student the proper way of putting the numbers into the calculator.
3. I will explain the areas that the student is struggling with in greater detail so that the student understand the material better.

C. Practice-

1. After we have done a couple of problems together I will then allow the student to complete the remaining problems on his own.
2. After the student has completed the work I will check over it and go over any problems he missed.

D. Independent Practice-

1. After we have completed the worksheet together the student will be given a worksheet packet to complete on his own.
2. I will check the student's progress before he leaves in order to make sure that he is understanding the principles.

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1. This student needs a small group setting to meet his needs. I will provide him one on one instruction to ensure his needs are being met.
2. This student also has difficulty with staying organized. I will make sure that the student gives me all completed work to turn in and any homework goes in the appropriate folder.
3. This student also needs use of a calculator.

F. Checking for understanding-

1. I will check over students work after he has completed it to see if he is understanding the material.

G. Closure-

1. I will do a quick review over what we have covered, this might include a few practice problems.
2. I will then make sure that the student turns in all completed work and puts his homework in the appropriate folder to take home.

7. Evaluation-
1. I will use his completed work to compare it with previous work he has done in class to determine what he has learned.
2. I will use the students work he has done with me to help me determine whether I provided him with the proper instruction he needed. If I did not then I will make sure to modify my future lessons to meet his needs better.
