4. Objectives-
1.Students will be able to find the circumference of a circle
2. Student will be able to find the area of a circle
3. Student will be able to find radius and diameter of circle when given the area/circumference
 
5. Materials and Aids-

6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.As a review of previous assignment, students will respond to 4 questions concerning area of trapezoids and irregular figures posted on Evernote

2. Using a large pizza pan students will predict how far the shape will travel in order to make one full revolution?
 

B. Development-

1. Use a string to compare distance to diameter of the shape to discover the distance is a little more than 3 times the diameter
2. Discuss circumference formula of circle
3. Introduce area formula for circles
 

C. Practice-

1. Students will use Ipod to Winn possible geometry tutor application to review process and work examples.
2. Students will work as a class using individual white boards solving area & circumference and problems
 

D. Independent Practice-

1. Students will begin assignment on page 419-423 in text.
2.Use study partner
3. Teacher will monitor individual work as needed
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1. Calculators will be used
2. One-on-one from teachers as needed.
 

F. Checking for understanding-


1. On Evernote, students will describe in words how they would find area and circumference of a circle.
