1. Topic-
Students will learn how to complete the order of operations, using the P-E-M-D-A-S method.
 
2. Content-
Oder of Operations, simple and complex equations. Student will learn how to use the incorporated material in order to view standards necessary to pass the topic to pre and post quiz.
 
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1. Student will successfully complete an interactive worksheet.
2. Students will complete the necessary accomplishments to pass the tests that follow the work
3. Students will successfully and independently be able to work on complex and simple problem that use exponents and powers (etc...)
 
4. Objectives-
1. Teacher will instruct a three day material viewer, with PowerPoint, and vocabulary overview.
2. Students will be able to ask any questions the accompany the material.
3. Teacher will be able to work one-on-one with students with accommodated needs.
 
5. Materials and Aids-
1. StarBoard PowerPoint with interactive vocabulary/
2. Worksheets and homework for practice
3. Pre-Algebra textbook, to show example problems.
4. M&Ms for M&M Algebra worksheet.
5. PEMDAS material with hopscotch board showing the processes of the Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication/Division, and Addition/Subtraction.
5a.Explaining the process of how to use them.
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

Teacher will explain the vocabulary and how to do the process of PEMDAS to solve the problems that follow, students will be introduces to the use of a calculator for all work.
 

B. Development-

Teacher will show YouTube video on how the process actually is demonstrated throughout a 10-12 minute period. Student will eventually be able to work independently.
 

C. Practice-

Students will practice with multiple worksheets, and multiple group activity(s). Student will independently be able to complete the M&M algebra worksheet one full understanding is reached.
 

D. Independent Practice-

M&M Algebra will be used as a part of the independent practice. Students will complete 6 homework assessments for the week of teaching.
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

Calculators are permitted on the material to be followed with the classroom setting.
 

F. Checking for understanding-

To check if the student understands the material. Teacher will use a post-jeopardy game to finish the lesson off.
 

G. Closure-

By the end of the lesson, the students will completely understand the values of the PEMDAS method and the "Order of Operation" followed by a lesson quiz to be used to the students.
 
7. Evaluation-
To measure the evaluation of the student, teacher will construct a whiteboard activity to be able to be used for the class asking question and giving the first person to answer a prize using simple and complex questionnaire.
 
8. Teacher Reflection-
Student will take a follow up quiz to show what they have learned throughout the lesson and understanding of the lesson to be able to progress to the higher using variable and more complex problems.
