4. Objectives-
1. Students will order numbers in cooperative groups.
2. Students will write the missing numbers in given sets.
3. Students will write double digit numbers correctly.
 
5. Materials and Aids-
Sets of number cards.(1-30)
Independent practice page to fill in missing numbers.
Dot to Dot Printable.
Pencils.
Crayons.
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1. Display number cards on board in mixed order. (1-10)
2. Have students take turns placing cards in proper order.
3. Review proper order of numbers.
 

B. Development-

1. Give each student a number card.
2. Instruct students to identify their given number.
3. Instruct students to work cooperatively to arrange themselves in correct number order.
4. Have students recite their numbers in the correct order.
 

C. Practice-

1. Post practice page on board and model how to complete first example. (Recite given numbers, identify empty spaces & the number that come before or after the given numbers, write correct number to fill in empty space.)
2. Have student volunteers take turns to complete remaining examples.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1. Distribute independent practice page.
2. Instruct students to complete page independently at their tables (both sides).
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1. Range of numbers will be smaller for students with limited number knowledge. (0-30)
2. Number line will be displayed on the page to guide students if needed.
3. Adult assistance will be available to focus students with special needs.
4. Highlighted numbers will be provided for students with limited number knowledge.
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1. The students' level of independence will be monitored as they complete practice page.
2. Accuracy of practice page will determine their comprehension of concepts.
 

G. Closure-

1. Students will connect numbers in order and draw a picture.
2. Students will color their picture.
 
7. Evaluation-
Successful completion of independent practice page will measure comprehension of concepts.
