1. Topic-
How algorithms can help solve any problem. |
2. Content-
Algorithms are a precise rule or set of rules specifying how to
solve a problem. Today we will learn about the benefits and how to
relate the to computer science. |
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1. Lead class in discussion on Algorithms.
2. Have class use Algorithms in solving problems.
3. Have students create their own Algorithms |
4. Objectives-
1. Show the class the advantages in using Algorithms in computer
science.
2. Class will show understanding of how to find potential problems
before they happen.
3. Class will use Algorithms to solve their own questions. |
5. Materials and Aids-
Pen,pencil, paper,Diagram on Algorithms and how to use proper steps |
6. Procedures/Methods-
A. Introduction-
1 Today we are going to discuss Algorithm and how they can help
to solve problems. An algorithm is precise step by step plan for a
computational procedure that begin with an input value and yields
an out put value in a finite number of steps.
B. Development-
1. What are the steps to solving an algorithm?
2. Does it make it easier to use algorithms with shorter steps,if
so are you using all necessary steps.
3. How can you compare every day algorithms to computing algorithms? |
C. Practice-
1. Develop your own algorithm for solving problem.
2. Develop algorithm for creating a data disk.
3. Check to see if your algorithm is useful and true and if the Accepting
state is valid. |
D. Independent Practice-
1. Show class the problems that might occur and how to use that
in algorithm solving
2. Check for understanding by having students draw a diagram for their
own algorithm.
E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
F. Checking for understanding-
1. Class will design algorithm for the example that I choose.
2. Class will find all possible setbacks .
3. Class will solve algorithm or figure ways around setback. |
G. Closure-
After I determine there is a complete understanding of algorithm
and how there used in computing students will be able to foresee all
possible setbacks and hot to work around them to complete their goal
of the Accepting sate. |
