Students solve multistep problems, including word problems, involving linear equations and linear inequalities in one variable and provide justification for each step.
 
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1.Student are given a stipend of 4,000. Their mission is to make it to superbowl.
2.they must obtain 5 categories: means of transportation, ticket to the superbowl, at least 1 night in a hotel, attend or see a Dallas attraction, and finally obtain their daily meals
3. students must reason why they choose why they made these choices when planning for the SuperBowl
 
4. Objectives-
1.Research the tickets, hotels, attractions, and also flight, car....whatwever they need in order to fill out the expense report
2.they must be able to justify their actions

5. Materials and Aids-
1. Computer
2. expense report
3. calculator
4. pencil/pen
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.first pick a way to get to Dallas Texas. Bus, walk, flight, car.

2. find a ticket on ticketmaster, craigslist, stubhub
3. Find a hotel in Dallas and record how much it would cost

4. See an attraction and record it

5. figure out the cost of food you are going to consume on the trip
 

B. Development-

1.i will show them a simple one and pick the cheapest options to see how I can save money. This in turn will cause them to find creative means of spending the money
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1.GATE students must provide a report of their attractions and its significance to the city of Dallas Texas

2.ELL Students can work in pairs or groups and can divide the work up
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1.it is a 100 point assignment

10 points each for the five criteria. Total 50 pts.

10 points for staying under budget

5 points for the explanations
25 pts total

15 points for creativity
