A. Introduction-
1. Math Center (days in school, date)
2. Introduce the analog clock

B. Development-
1. Have students point out the clock(s) in the room. Watches: analog
or digital?
2. Identify and match vocab with the analog clock
3. Explain how to write time: hour comes first: minutes after
4. Demonstrate how to draw the minute & hour hand on a clock |

C. Practice-
1. Students will go back to their desk with a mini-clock and get
out their white boards
2. I will tell the students a time and they will model the time on
their mini-clocks
3. After that, students will write on their board the time that I
model for them |

D. Independent Practice-
Students will complete pages 435, 436 on their own. |

F. Checking for understanding-
I will continue to ask students if they have questions. I will walk
around and monitor their independent practice. |

G. Closure-
We will review the new vocab that the students learned. I will then
ask them to tell me what time it is when we are done. I will tie in
that telling time is important for our daily life (i.e. being to school
on time, going to the doctor or other appointments, going to bed.
