4. Objectives-
1. The students will choose appropriate scales and intervals for frequency tables
 
5. Materials and Aids-
Textbooks, calculators, whiteboards, interactive board, worksheets
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1. I will begin by reviewing the problem of the day that students completed yesterday

2. I will display the 5 minute check from the teacher text and students will be given time to work on it before we review it
 

B. Development-

1. I will model throughout the lesson by use of examples and explanation of the new information
 

C. Practice-

1. On page 294, I will read the definition of scales and intervals and we will look at examples 1-2 and review

2. I will now project the Skills Practice and we will work through problems together. Students will work on their whiteboards as I demonstrate it on the board
 

D. Independent Practice-

1. Students will move on to page 295 and 296. I will choose various example problems for them to work out and we will review each one together

2. If time allows, I will give them the additional problems given in the teacher text on page 295
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1. LD students will receive additional help throughout the lesson while they are working at their desks

2. LD students will have their homework sheets read to them will be allowed extra time or help
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1. I will check for understanding throughout the lesson through the answers students give to my questions

2. I will also check for understanding through the answers they display on their whiteboards

3. I will assess students before I pass out homework by asking them various questions relating to what was covered
 

G. Closure-

1. I will end by reviewing what we learned and asking questions from the Assess in the teacher text

2. Students will be given a worksheet to complete as homework
 
7. Evaluation-
1. Students will be informally evaluated throughout the lesson through the answers they give to my questions and through their participation

2. They will be formally evaluated on their homework
