1. Successfully audiate a 4 measure melody using intervals of 2nds and 3rds in 4/4 time signature.

1. Write down correct notes of the melody played.
2. Write down correct rhythms of the melody played.
 
5. Materials and Aids-
Keyboard, staff paper, and pencil.
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1. Review intervals of 2nds and 3rds.
2. Review procedure to melodic dictation.
 

B. Development-

1. Go through a practice melody.
2. Give them the starting note.
3. Play through a melody 3 times and go through the procedure to melodic dictation each time the melody is played.
 

C. Practice-

1. Give the students the time signature and first note.
2. Play the melody for them times.
3. Students will write what they hear.

D. Checking for understanding-

1. Ask individuals for measures written.
2. Ask individuals what they hear.
3. Ask individuals how they performed.
4. Give a Quiz over Melodic Dictation
 

E. Closure-

1. Introduce melodies with 4ths.
