3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1. Develop teacher's middle/upper level administrative skills.
2. Prepare students for little/nothing.
3. Provide valuable time for the teacher to complete meaningless paperwork while not interfering with outside school hours.
 
4. Objectives-
1. Teacher will spend no time outside of school preparing for the next day.
2. Students will be FREAKING good at Guitar Hero.
3. Teacher will have time to grab a quick smoke.
 
5. Materials and Aids-
Guitar Hero game, corresponding game console and guitar controllers.
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1. Take attendance
2. Look out for administrators
3. Set up video game
 

B. Development-

1. Assign students in groups to compete
2. Group students by ability level
3. Demonstrate the controls (modeling!)
 

C. Practice-

1. Students take turns playing each other (monitored).
2. Teacher provides insults as necessary (you suck, wtf, my grandmother with no arms could play better than you...)
3. Continue monitoring progress (watching only, no record keeping)
 

D. Independent Practice-

1. Students can now play Guitar Hero with teacher supervision
2. Students have a firm grasp on the differences between colors (yellow, red, green)
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1. Students with special needs can play Connect Four.
2. After Connect Four, take a short break, then have the students switch colors and call it Super Connect Four (to keep students engaged)
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1. Students can now play at one level higher difficulty on Guitar Hero.
2. Teacher was able to get a quick smoke in (possibly a drink!)
3. Students love band!
 

G. Closure-

1. Put away console, guitars.
2. Make sure activity is not mentioned to principal.
 
7. Evaluation-
1. Students wasted lots of time.
2. It was good to smoke.
 
8. Teacher Reflection-
That was awesome that I got paid to do that. In other words: I...Kick...Ass.
