1. The students will perform scales F, E flat, B flat, and A flat.
2. The students will perform basic exercise 4 and 8 from essential
elements.
3. The students will practice and perform the Pink Panther |

4. Objectives-
|
1. The students will eliminate technical errors due to incorrect
pitches for exercise 4, 8, scales and the Pink Panther.
2. Students will perform rhythmic and dynamic accuracy for the pink
Panther measure 24 to the end.

5. Materials and Aids-
|
The Pink Panther, Essential Elements, Pencil. |

6. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
1. The students will perform a daily routine warm-including lip
slurs up to four partials, scales F, B flat, E flat, and A flat, and
students will practice exercise 4 and 8.
2. Students will rehearse the end of the Pink Panther, focusing on
pitch and rhythm accuracy.

B. Development-
1. The students will observe modeling done by the teacher on various
rhythms as well as pitches for the Pink Panther.
2. Students may be asked to sing on "ta" and clap rhythms within the
context of the Pink Panther.
3. Students will be asked to buzz and or breath patterns used in the
Pink Panther. |

|
C. Practice-
1. Students will perform excerpts of warm up on mouthpiece or by
clapping to insure pitch and rhythmic accuracy.
2. Students will be asked to keep time while other sections perform
excerpts from the Pink Panther.

D. Independent Practice-
1. Students will be measured on their participation.
2. Students will be measured on accuracy of pitches and rhythms in
the Pink Panther.
3. Students will be measured on their behavior during the class period. |

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
No accommodations necessary. |

F. Checking for understanding-
1. Students will be assessed at the end of the week on progress
made up to that point.
2. Students will be graded on warm-up exercises at the discretion
of the cooperating teacher. |

G. Closure-
1. Students will complete the lesson by reaching the end of the
Pink Panther and applying all materials learned from earlier instructions.
