To learn basic musical terms, and confidently use these terms in
relation to the music, as well as retain each term to be used effectively |

4. Objectives-
|
1.To encourage student to learn the appropriate terms that appear
in the music they will be studying.
2.memorize these terms the students must also be able to apply the
effect of the term. |

One's Brain, Pen or Pencil, and Paper or Notecards |

6. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
These terms form some of the base of musical language like any other
language except this one is comprised of Italian, French, German,
and Latin words. They are necessary to be able play music, and if
you can keep these terms under your belt, you will be able to use
some of the most musical aspects of any piece of music. |

B. Development-
1.Teach each word in relation to its musical use.
2.Use Youtube video of Rikudim: I. Andante Moderato by Jan Van der

C. Practice-
1.Have each student compose a short story about anything or any
one (providing it is class room appropriate) that is a page long double
spaced.
2. In story use as many musical terms as possible in appropriate manner
in place of common words that mean the same |

D. Independent Practice-
1.Have each student compose a short story about anything or any

double-spaced.

E. Checking for understanding-
1.Next Day, have students read each story
2.Each time a student comes to a word chose a student at random to
define the word
3.Do this for entire class |

F. Closure-
Now that you have the knowledge of these musical terms you can apply
them in all of the music you play from now on. The next time you see
one of these terms make sure you play accordingly and your musicality
will be noticed. |
