4. Materials and Aids-

5. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.Start with Ankle Pops, high knees, butt kicks, and pawing to warm up the lower extremities.
2.Practice Arm pumps as well because arm drive speeds up leg drive.

3. Finish off your warm up with static stretching to make sure all the muscles in your body are warmed up and ready to perform.
 

B. Development-

1.Practice your stance, and starts. Note only practice your starts up to 10 yards.
2.Focus on propelling out of your stance with your body at a 45 degree angle. Try keeping your body at this angle for at least 10 yards then gradually work your way to an upright running position.
 

C. Practice-

1.Warm ups- by doing the correct dynamic warm ups this improves your times.

2.Practicing your stance and starts is extremely key in 40 yard dash. It basically can add or drop tenths of a second off your final time which is vital in achieving the fastest time.
3.While running the 40 yard dash you want to focus on being completely relaxed and always remember to finish through the line.
