|
A. Introduction-
1.9th Grade students are at a crucial stage in the developmental
process and need to know what activities can either benefit or harm
them.
2.Every kid in the class participates in sports and are not as physically
strong as the older kids they play with or against, weight training
can close that gap.
3.We do not know how long our pool will be operational, and we must
use it while we can. |
|
|
B. Development-
1.The students have been playing basketball and have made drastic
improvements. I will continue to fine tune weak points in their games.
2.Each Monday I will lecture on a selected health topic and will provide
a video if appropriate. We can also work on our writing by creating
and "Exit Slip" describing what they learned.
|
|
|
C. Practice-
1.As discussed above, the students will write one paragraph summaries
as their "Exit Slips" from class on Mondays.
2.We will work in the weight room on Tuesdays, I will demonstrate
each lift and ensure that students utilize proper technique and follow
safety rules of the weight room.
3.I will continue to lifeguard and lead the students in aqua aerobics
on Wednesdays. |
|
|
D. Independent Practice-
1.We will conduct a weight training mid-quarter circuit during the
week of February 4-7.
2.I will referee or take part in each basketball scrimmage and stop
the game to discuss unique circumstances or when good coaching/teaching
opportunities arise in the contest. |
|
|
E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
1.I will Continue to partner up basketball players with different
ability levels.

as understanding. |
|
