3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1. Students will be engaging in tasks of manipulation and stability
2.This engagement will involve fine and gross motor skills
3.Students memory and listening skills will be developed
 
4. Objectives-
1.The student will kick a soccer ball with increased accuracy
2.The student will make progress toward refining the instep kick
3.The student will accurately kick a ball in various directions
 
5. Materials and Aids-
one soccer ball for every two children
2 Goals
1 cone
1 large cardboard box
chalk
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.warm-up "Get Funky"
2."What is the most popular sport in the world?"
3."What is an instep;outstep;sole?"
 

B. Development-

The outside foot kick is used for short passes. The non-kicking foot is placed to the side of the ball and the kicking foot is placed across in front of it. Contact the ball with the outside of the foot.
 

C. Practice-

1.A rolling ball can be trapped with the sole.
2.Practice kicking and trapping with a partner.
3.Practice kicking in different directions.
4.Practice kicking so your partner has to move to the right or left to trap the ball.
3.Trap the ball with the inside and outside of the foot.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.Children kick to the left and right so that the ball travels through the goal markers
2."Can you hit the target three times in succession before moving to a longer distance?"
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

Give students alternative paths. Students demonstrating understanding of the concept can increase the kicking distance while other students can lesson the goal distance.
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1.Teacher will monitor student progress

 

G. Closure-

1.Teacher will conclude lesson by asking questions about kicking a soccer ball.
2.Teacher will tell students about upcoming skills

1.Were class objectives met?
 
8. Teacher Reflection-
Variations; use 2 or more balls, play in a line formation, kick to hit an object, kick the ball off the ground,kicking for distance.
