2. Content-

The students will increase their heart rate by completing a circuit
of a variety of exercises that will help their cardiovascular health. |

|
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
|
1.Understand basic concepts of heart rhythm and exercise.
2.Understand basic human body systems and factors that influence growth
and development.
3.Understand basic circuit training ideas. |
|
|
4. Objectives-
|
1.Students will learn how to properly use the fitness equipment.
2.Students will increase their heart rate by completing a circuit
of a variety of exercises that will help their cardiovascular health.

|
|
5. Materials and Aids-
|
2 treadmills, 2 rowing machines, jump ropes, 1 recumbent and 1 upright
bike. |
|
|
6. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
The teacher will explain what each piece of equipment is used for
and how it is used. A demo will be given. |
|
|
B. Development-
The six stations plus jump ropes will be spread out evenly around
gym. Each student will use each piece of equipment for a pre determined
amount of time, and promptly "rotate" in circuit fashion to the next
apparatus. |
|
|
C. Practice-
Students are at their circuits and ready. Teacher will rotate between
the circuits to make sure proper execution is being utilized. |
|
|
D. Independent Practice-
Students will be performing exercises on their own with assistance
if needed. |
|
|
E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
Students with limitations will be monitored more closely, and circuit
ideal will be modified if needed. |
|
|
F. Checking for understanding-
Ask students what they thought of the circuit and if they feel as
if they got a good workout in. |
|
|
G. Closure-
1.Teacher will explain that circuit training is important
2.because it allows one to get a good cardiovascular workout in. |
|
|
7. Evaluation-
|
1.The teacher will evaluate the lesson by the students performance
during the lesson.
2.All students should have been actively engaged in the circuit and
been able to be successful through the entire circuit. |

8. Teacher Reflection-
|
Students really seemed to enjoy this activity. Nice change of pace
from typical P.E. games or skill lessons. Great job! Great class! |
