1.Students will understand the positions on the offensive line of
scrimmage.
2.Students will be able to explain what each players responsibilities
are.
3.Students will discuss the rules of football. |

1.Students will be able to discuss the responsibilities of each
player.
2.Students will be able to demonstrate strategies of football by utilizing
prior knowledge such as passing patterns and catching/passing.
3.Students will be able to participate in a modified game of football. |

6. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
1.Warm Up- Jog, jumping jacks, push ups, crunches, stretching.
2.Review Line of Scrimmage and discuss how players line up on Line
of Scrimmage.
3.Discuss roles of each player. |

|
B. Development-
1.Use students to demonstrate positions; Center, Quarterback, Guards,
Tackles, and Tight End.
2.Discuss the role of each player. Ex.) The Quarterback runs the play,
Center snaps the ball and blocks for quarterback.

C. Practice-
1.Players in groups of 3-4 can rotate through in each position.
2.Students review vocabulary and throwing/catching in groups
3.Students play a modified game with each side getting 4 downs with
no chance for a first down. |

D. Independent Practice-
1.Students play a modified game.
2.Students work in groups to practice positions and responsibilities.
3.Students complete quiz on position sheet. |

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
1. Students that need more help can be paired up with students that
have good background knowledge.
2. Students use hand outs to assist in describing positions/responsibilities.
