Introductory Gymnastics- Relationship Themes |

2. Content-
|
Students will learn different movement patterns and relationships
with objects and others. Students will learn by traveling on, over,
through, under and around a partner or apparatus. Introductory movements
will be introduced, followed by practice time and a final sequence
which will be performed in front of the class. |

3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-

4. Objectives-
|
1.Students will gain knowledge of how to gain and maintain relationships
with others.
2.Students will transfer skills learned from partner relationships
to apparatus.
3.Students will gain appreciation for support systems of apparatus
and others. |

5. Materials and Aids-
|
Students will use various equipment around the gym including benches,
chairs and mats. |
|
|
6. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
1.Students will warm up by traveling around the gym, this will increase
heart rate and warm up muscles.
2. Students will get into partners and travel in different ways and
directions. Every 30 seconds the opposite partner will lead.
3.Students will set up wrestling mats around the gym to do static
stretches.
3.Students will combine their mat with one partner (see diagram 1) |

B. Development-
1. Students will be called in for demonstration
2. One student will be picked to demonstrate way of moving with relationships
with a partner.
3. Students will be shown ways of traveling over, onto, off of, around
and through. |

|
C. Practice-
1. In their partners, students will need to find a way of traveling
over, under, through and around each other.
2. Students must then find a new partner and create a new relationship
and way of travel with that partner.
3. Students then have to create a sequence using each movement to
perform to another group. |

|
D. Independent Practice-
1. Students and their partners will get a bench and chair, mats
to be placed around all the apparatus (see diagram 2)
2. In their partners students must create a sequence which uses each
other |
