The origins and backgrounds of the three major prophets of the Old Testament
 
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1. Recognize the contributions of the prophet Isaiah and his ministry.
2. Recognize the contributions of the prophet Jeremiah and his unique ministry.
3. Recognize the contributions of the prophet Ezekiel and his unique ministry.
 
4. Objectives-
1. Know what group the prophet Isaiah ministered to. 2. Be able to divide the book of Isaiah into two sections and understand the main theme of each section
3. Recognize the main messianic prophecies found within the book of Isaiah.
4. Recognize the fundamental difference between the prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah.
5. Understand the rising power of Babylon and the impact of international politics on the life of Judah and the prophet Jeremiah.
6. Know the evidence for the historicity of the prophet Jeremiah and his ministry.
7. Know what the main difference was between Ezekiel and the other two prophets.
 
5. Materials and Aids-
Map of upper Mesopotamia and the caucuses to compare the possible routes of the exile of the northern tribes of Israel
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1. Compare the call of Isaiah with
2. The call of Jeremiah
3. To the call of Ezekiel
 

B. Development-

1. Discuss the political offense around the Ministry of Isaiah
2. Discuss the same at the Ministry of Jeremiah
3. And the unique political situation for Ezekiel.
 

C. Practice-

Ask students to consider the difficulties as well as the triumphs of each prophets ministry.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1. Prepare students for upcoming quiz.
2. Prepare students for upcoming test.
