3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
By the end of this session, members will demonstrate their progress by
1.incorporating thanksgiving, praise, confession, and asking into their prayer times;
2. completed assignments for week 3
3. explaining the upper bar of the disciples cross in addition to what's already been learned
4. telling tablemates how they showed love to non Christians
5. praying for their personal needs and the needs of others
 
4. Objectives-
1. understand the power and purpose of prayer
2. how to properly approach the throne of God
3.why confession is necessary and what
 
5. Materials and Aids-
Masterlife Book 1: The Disciples Cross week 3; handouts of blank disciples cross, prayer request forms, handout with the names of God
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.Greet all ladies as they arrive
2.ask ladies to fill out prayer request and pass to the prayer warrior of the group
3.give each lady 10 minutes to write out scriptures
4. switch book and check one another's book and quote scripture of the week together.
 

B. Development-

1.table top leader will lead discussion on the weeks assignments going over each day
2.ask for volunteer to share about an experience of praying on the basis of what she wanted rather than seeking God's will first (pg 55)
3. Explain my own experience in this area
4. ask volunteers to tell which of their Prayer-Covenant List requests have been answered
5. ask members why they believe thanksgiving and praising God occur first in prayer. Ask volunteers to share benefits from coming before the Father with praise and thanksgiving first.
6. Which name of God has been most helpful to learning to praise Him. (allow volunteers to answer)
7. How do we distinguish between praising God and Thanking Him
8. Why do we believe confessing sin is important? Invite a volunteer to share how she found that confessing sin helped restore a right relationship with God
9. Invite a volunteer to tell about a time when they prayed with the wrong motivation for an outcome that she later realized would not be Christ-honoring
10.ask 2 or 3 volunteers Which of the four types of prayers is the easiest for you? Which is the most challenging? Why
 

C. Practice-

1.look at the word Adoration and explore it's meaning
2.discuss Praise and why it is an important element of prayer
3.Look at Psalm 91
 

D. Independent Practice-

THE DISCIPLES CROSS

1.pass out blank disciples cross
2. ask ladies to fill in the blank cross with appropriate scriptures with the discipline and scripture address
 

G. Closure-

1.ask for prayer request and praise reports
2. ask for volunteer to pray us out.
