4. Objectives-
1.Students will recognize primary and secondary effects of drug and alcohol abuse amongst teens
2. Students will be able to suggest alternative solutions issues faced by teens
3. Students will be able to list possible predictors for drug and alcohol abuse

6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.Review finding and bookmarking FHS Library website on screen using LCD projector
2.Discuss who has a life and wants to find their information in the most efficient and ethically plausible manner possible
 

B. Development-

1.Ask students what stealing information is called (plagiarism),
2.Remind them it is against the law
3.Show them how to save a specific book into their personal FHS resource list on the FHS Library card catalog
4. Show them how to cite that book using Easy Bib and remind them the teacher wants them to use two books minimum
5. Demonstrate how to access the databases from the library website and remind them using databases is a much more efficient use of their time
 

C. Practice-

1.Monitor as students look for books and information on their laptops
2.Walk around to make sure that all the students are on the right pages and links.
3.Help the students who get behind and look to make sure they are entering the information correctly
4. The second day students may check out the books they want.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.Students should be working on their research over the next two periods in the library
2.Students will turn in their research papers to the classroom teacher on Thursday for grading
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1.The classroom teacher has not made me aware of any in these four class groups.
2.I try to repeat and work one on one with students who seem lost or behind the others.
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1. Ask students guided questions about their search techniques
2.Look at what they are actually doing on their laptops
 

G. Closure-

1.Remind students the Blood Drive is happening but they have after school both days and before school on the 16th to work and get assistance.
2. One student did come in after school for extra help.
 
7. Evaluation-
Will need to be conducted with the classroom teacher after Thursday.
 
8. Teacher Reflection-
I went way too fast for the third and fourth hours. I talked to some of the students and they confirmed this. As a result I had to do a lot of reteaching one on one in those two groups.
