Expected Outcome Of This Lesson Plan-
The goal of this lesson is to show the effects the oils spill has on animals.
 
Teacher Objectives-
1. TLW research an animal and state the effects of the oil spill on the animal.

2. TLW construct a poster to represent the effects of the oil spill on their animal.

3. TLW share the found information woth the class.
 
Resources-
laptops, crayons, markers, white poster paper
 
Teaching Methods-

1. Lesson Introduction-

Recall the information we found in our weekly reader. Were the animals effected? How?
 

2. Lesson Progression-

Today we are going to further research the effects the animals are feeling from the Gulf Oil Spill. Each group will be given a diferent animal to research. You will need to look at various websites to find how these animals are affected.
 

3. Guided Practice-

I will demonstrate by looking up the effects of the oil spill on the peregrine falcon. This will be done on the promethean board.
 

4. Student Practice-

Students will break up into their groups and begin their research. After the groups find their research they will be constructing a poster to show what they have found.
 

5. Learner Accommodations-

Students will be working in groups.
 

6. Assessment-

I will be walking around the room monitoring all groups and answering questions.
 

7. Lesson Closure-

We will close by presenting our posters.
 
Measuring Student Progress-
I will be evaluating the groups based on group work and participation.
