1. Students will observe that the visible spectrum is only a part
of what our sun, a star, emits within the electromagnetic spectrum.
2. Students will study how astronomers use special tools (spectroscope)
to learn more about objects that are so far away.
3. Students will observe what spectroscopic data can specifically
tell astronomers about the sun and other stars. |

A. Introduction-
1.The Class will Read the article "Our Sun is a Special Star"
2. The Class will Read the article "The Electromagnetic Spectrum"

B. Development-
1.The teacher will introduce the terms and the worksheets for each
article and explain the process for each. The teacher will ask the
first question and model the answer for/with the students.

C. Practice-
| The Students will raise their hands attempting to answer the first
question. The teacher will evaluate readiness for the worksheets. |

D. Independent Practice-
| The students will complete the worksheets independently or in pairs
(dependent upon Tier) "Our Sun is a Special Star and The Electromagnetic
Spectrum. |
