2. Content-
The phases of the moon will be aligned from first to last in order while the teacher discusses each one.
 
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1.Know the names of the different phases
2.Know the correct alignment from first to last in order
3.match the correct name to the correct phase
 
4. Objectives-
1.Given a matching game the students will match the phases of the moon accordingly with 80% accuracy
2.Given the lesson on the Smart Board the students will correctly match the names to the phases with 80% accuracy
3.Given a blank worksheet the student will draw the phases of the moon in order with 80% accuracy

6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.Give everyone a piece of blank paper and a marker
2.Prevail the first phase with its name
3.Have everyone draw a picture of the first phase and spell the name together as a class
 

B. Development-

1.The Smart Board will have a picture of the moon on it during each phase
2.The students will be drawing a picture along with seeing a picture
3.The will be speaking aloud as a class together
 

C. Practice-

1.The student will draw the phases of the moon in order
2.The students will label the phases of the moon in order
3.The students will say aloud the names of each phase in order
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.The students will be given a worksheet containing the different phases of the moon
2.The students will fill in the correct name of each phase in order
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1.For students that have seeing impairments there will be a worksheet with the diagram of the moon raised so that the student can feel the different shapes the moon makes
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1.Each student will fill out the worksheet
2.Each student will have drawn their own sketch of the moon's phases
3.Each student will be able to repeat aloud the name of each phase
 

G. Closure-

1.Show students different pictures of the moon such as the Blood Red moon or the Blue moon
2.Try to think of a mnemonic device to help the students remember the moon's phase's names
