4. Objectives-
Describe and compare several common ecosystems (communities of organisms and their interaction with the environment).

5. Materials and Aids-
Competitive Edge Science Booklets, Individual Biome Books, students' science notebooks

6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1. Students will be shown pictures of the different biomes and asked: What do these pictures have in common? How are they different
2.Teacher will explain that these all show different biomes located around the world

B. Development-

1.Students will be shown word webs on the different words listed above.
2. Students will take notes in their science notebooks.

C. Practice-

1. Students will read with partners about the different biomes of the world.
2.They will take notes on the biomes different key factors

D. Independent Practice-

1.Students will answer given questions pertaining to the different biomes.

1.Teacher will give clues pertaining to the different biomes - students will name the biome the teacher is referring to.
2.Students will answer using individual whiteboards to ensure active engagement.

G. Closure-

Students will be asked to pick the biome they would most like to live in and describe it to a partner and tell why they'd like it there.
