1. Students will model artificial selection via an illustration and list.
2. Students will create a four section foldable on natural selection.
3. Students will create a chart in the handout showing the various biotic/abiotic factors of the Great Salt Lake.
 
5. Materials and Aids-
Poster paper, colored paper, notebook
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

Cartoon about adaptation as a warm-up.
 

B. Development-

1. Teacher will model artificial selection and create a poster and list.
2. Panel of experts
3. Teacher will show chart on board with heading and definitions of abiotic/biotic
 

C. Practice-

1. Class creates poster together.
2. teacher will assist groups in summarizing information.
3. Teacher will assist students with first two factors.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1. Groups create a poster of artificial selection.
2. Groups are to summarize individual sections of page 338 concerning evolution by natural selection.
3. Students will complete chart on handout
