1. Topic-
Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology-
XENOTRANSPLANTATION

2. Content-
Xenotrasplantation- What this is, what kind of technology is used, the social, ethical, legal and environmental aspects to Xenotransplantation(See attached Information Sheet)

3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1.Students to understand what Xenotransplantation is
2.Students to understand the benefits and risks of Xenotransplantation
3.Students to understand the main facts of Xenotransplantation- the future, types, what animals are used, and much more.

4. Objectives-
1.Students to fully understand Xenotransplantation
2.Students to know the risks and benefits of Xenotransplantation
3.Students to be able to successfully complete quiz on their knowledge of Xenotransplantation

5. Materials and Aids-
Use fun game(Trivia), to interact with students to help them understand Xenotransplantation, but also to test their knowledge on the subject.

6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.Brief introduction to what Xenotransplantation is- definition, and background
2.Explain how scientists and present day technology's are involved. As well as Benefits and Risks of Xenotransplantation
3.Types of transplants, Animals that are commonly used, future of Xenotransplants and general important facts

B. Development-

1.Use Pictures
2.Use Examples
3.Use stories or quotes

C. Practice-

1.Students will be able to practice in class playing a trivia game to help the concepts of Xenotransplantation become easier to understand. See Attached Trivia Game.

D. Independent Practice-

Students will practice independently by doing daily homework questions on Xenotransplantation.See Attached Questions.

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

Having pictures and examples will help students with difficulties learn visually. The interaction of the trivia game will help those students physically learn and the homework questions will help those who are independent learners.

F. Checking for understanding-

Review questions (homework questions all in one-attached) will be added into the lesson at the end on class, for students to do for homework, and if they have any questions I will be available for extra help at lunches.

G. Closure-

Students will write a quiz(See attached Quiz) to prove their abilities of understanding Xenotransplantation

7. Evaluation-
1.Home work checks
2.Evaluation during Group Trivia.
3.Marking of Quiz

8. Teacher Reflection-
Ask myself Questions in the end such as:
1.Were the students well engaged?
2.Did I alter anything in my plan as I taught it?
3.Would I do anything Differently?
