A. Introduction-

1.A paragraph or passage usually centers around a main idea. The first sentence of a paragraph, the topic sentence, usually describes the main idea while the rest of the paragraph contain further information, or details, about that idea.
2.The Most Beautiful Roof in the World is a nonfiction selection about the work of a rain forest scientist.
3.Use a map to identify the regions of the world.
 

B. Development-

1.Identifying a main idea and its supporting details by using the linguistic patterns.
2.Write the pattern 1 through 4 on chart paper.
3.Model the use of the comprehension skill and encourage the students to use it on their own.

1.Students will read aloud the title and the photographer.
