1. Instruction to students of the five main branches of Chemistry and what each is composed of.
2. Discussion with students on how Chemistry is used in the modern world and job types that would require a Chemistry background.

1. Students will be able to list the branches of Chemistry and describe characteristics of each.
2. Students will be able to openly discuss jobs that require a Chemistry background.

A. Introduction-

1. What is Science PowerPoint presentation.
2. Job list posting that all have Chemistry backgrounds.
 

B. Development-

1. PowerPoint presentation of the branches of Chemistry with descriptions of each.
2. Video presentation of jobs requiring Chemistry backgrounds.
 

C. Practice-

1. Question/Answer session on branches of Chemistry.
2. Discussion of common uses for Chemistry in the current world environment.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1. Worksheet on branches of Chemistry.
2. Worksheet on modern uses for Chemistry and jobs for chemists.
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1. Extra time as needed.
2. Peer tutoring as needed.
