Several parent volunteers

Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1. I will teach several parent volunteers how to work with the program beforehand in order to effectively help the students create their animation.
2. I will demonstrate the program to the class.
-show the basics of the program and explain each task I do
-create a cart wheel

B. Development-

1. Each student will choose one activity they enjoy most.
2. One at a time, the students will create an animation of their chosen activity in Pivot with an instructor.
3. Once all projects are complete, each student will explain their animation played on the SmartBoard and tell why they chose the activity.

Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

Kinesthetic-Students will eventually get to work the program themselves
Visual-I will show on the SmartBoard each step I take in the program
Auditory-I will say what I am doing as I am doing it
Inter/Intrapersonal: the students will work alone, with the help of an instructor.
Logical: the students will work in a sequential computer program
Verbal: I suppose the learner will have to discuss what they are doing with the instructor.
Musical/Rhythmic: hmm....
Naturalistic: I would clump this with the above and say they could possibly add music to their animation. **(check to see how difficult this would be.)**
Kinesthetic/Visual: hands-on on the computer.

Checking for understanding-

1. Which activities were most popular?
2. Why do you think ______ (the activity(ies)) were the most popular?
3. What other similar activities can we try?

Evaluation-
1a. The student completed the project.
1b. The student partially completed the project.
2a. The student presented (or tried to present) his or her project.
2b. The student did not attempt to present his or her project.
