6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

Hook: Introduce the steps for Making an Apology by creating a scene in the classroom insincerely apologizing to a student!
 

B. Development-

Teacher introduce while modeling correct steps for Making an Apology
1.Look at the person.
2.Use a calm body and voice.
3.Say what you are sorry about.
4.Say what you'll do differently next time.
5.Ask the person to accept your apology.
Rationalize that this skill shows respect and concern for others and when you apologize others see you as a caring person therefore increasing your chances of making amends.
 

C. Practice-

1.Students receive copy of skill builder steps
2.Turn and Talk to partner reviewing correct steps practicing looks like/sounds like
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.Using the I Pad students take a picture of their partner
2.Using Yakit kids students add facial animation features to photo of themselves.
3.Using voice recorder students make up a scenario and record themselves apologizing using the correct step sequence
4.Save video
5.Share with class through Google Drive
 

Checking for understanding-

1.Students used correct step sequence when apologizing
2.Students were able to create an animated video through Yakit kids demonstrating the skill Making an Apology
