1. Lesson Introduction-
1.In their journal the students will answer the question:
Recall a time when you felt power less as someone had control over you in every aspect.
How did you feel? What was going through your mind? |

2. Lesson Progression-
1.Provide a definition of fascism and totalitarianism.
2.Show a map of countries which had fascist governments.
3.Explain how the countries made up the Axis Powers during WWII.

1.Provide the students with a map to color each country in relation to their government.
2.Group activity. Concept map.

| 1.Homework would include a worksheet chart that had countries and leaders. Students would have to match them up with types of governments. |

The students will write on an index card their definition that they created after the group concept attainment map and turn it in as they leave the class. |
