2. To increase the awareness of customs in other countries
3. Students will use the http://pbskids.org/africa/mask/index.html to design an African mask.
 
Resources-
Computer with internet access, projector, color printer.

1. Lesson Introduction-

1. Discuss customs in other countries.
 

2. Lesson Progression-

1. Show students African artifacts.
2. Discuss African customs.
3. Using a globe, students will find the country of Africa.
 

3. Guided Practice-

1. Discuss the importance of digital citizenship.
2. Use the internet to access the website.
3. Click on each link and discuss with students.
 

4. Student Practice-

1. Student will peruse each link on the site.
2. Students will give a report about a topic found on the website.
3. Students will design and print a mask.

1. Develop written instructions "tech sheet" for visual learners.
2. Present an auditory introduction and instruction for website use.
3. Students will work in assigned groups so that students with different learning styles will support each other.
