The Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) is a federal law, enacted by Congress.

Article 91-Insubordinate conduct toward WO, NCO, or PO

3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
This presentation is aimed at developing an appreciation for the UCMJ articles 91 and 92 as tools to promoting a positive and productive work environment vs one aimed to demoralize the service member.

 
4. Objectives-
By the end of the presentation:-

1. Soldiers will be able to define the concepts UCMJ, Insubordinate, Reprisal, Insult and Deportment.

2. Explain the benefits of Articles 91 and 92 to the WO, NCO, PO and explain how a failure to adhere to the policies contribute to poor work climate.

3. Develop appreciation for the UCMJ and those protected by Articles 91 and 92 of the UCMJ.

A. Introduction-

Think about the following scenarios for 2-3 minutes:-

1. A service member uses inappropriate language deportment to an NCO. Both were wearing civilian attire...ouch...

2. A Military Police orders a service member to take a take a breathe test to determine his blood alcohol level. The SM declines to do this....ouch

3. An NCO orders subordinate SM to 'stand fast'. The fire alarm goes off and the SM runs outside the building....ouch
 

B. Development-

What would you do as either the NCO or subordinate SM?

1. A service member uses inappropriate language deportment to an NCO. Both were wearing civilian attire...ouch...
