2.Children will be able to recall which vehicle is missing
3.Children will be able to play game with one another without teacher help
 
4. Objectives-
1.Describe looks/uses of each vehicle
2.Recall missing items
3.3-5 step instructions
 
5. Materials and Aids-
Tray
Towel
6 vehicles
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1."Your teachers told me you have been learning about transportation this month. Can you help me name the ones I pull out of my bag?"
(Allow them to play with as I bring them out)
2. "Let's put them all on the tray."
3."Can you tell me what color this one is? (point to vehicle) "How many wheels does this one have?"
 

B. Development-

1. "Are you ready to play a game? I'm going to cover the tray with this towel and you cover your eyes with your hands. No peeking"
2. Remove 1 vehicle
3. Have children guess which one is missing after looking at tray-"Now OPEN YOUR EYES!(remove towel)...Which vehicle is missing??" give clues to help children decide-"which one was red? which one had only 2 wheels?"
 

C. Practice-

1. Play multiple teacher guided rounds.
2.As children get proficient remove 2 vehicles or mix them up after vehicle is removed.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1. Allow children to play game with out teacher help.
Can they recall follow 3-5 step instructions?
2. May need to designate 1 child to be the "taker" per round to help eliminate arguing.
3. Listen to conversations-are they discussing vehicles? (types, uses, colors, recalling stories about seeing a particular vehicle)
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1.A child who is nonverbal can point
2.Non-English speaking children can "teach" the vehicle names/colors to the others
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1.Can they recall vehicles with & without hints?
2.Can they work together?
3.What conversations are happening? Are they about the vehicles they are using?
 

G. Closure-

1.Give a 2-3 minute warning to clean-up time.
2."Can you help me name the vehicles one more time as we put them away?"
