1. Topic-
Influential People in History
 
2. Content-
I want the students to take the people we have learned about in history class and learn more about them. Find out what obstacles they had to jump over to get where they are.
 
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1.To write report on famous person in history.

2.to understand what makes that person important in history
3. Find out who that person was before they were historically important.
 
4. Objectives-
1. To research a famous person in history.

2. To write a report about that person growing up. (Childhood, education back ground, family life, etc.)
 
5. Materials and Aids-
Internet, library, history books
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.Many people in history did not always have an easy child hood
2. some noted for being famous for being smart were at the bottom of their class.
3. These people learned to triumph over bad times and soared,
 

B. Development-

1. Einstein had poor grades in math in school but became a famous mathmatician.
2. Leonard de Vinci was dyslectic.
3. Thomas Edison found difficulty in reading until he was twelve and in writing, even after that
 

C. Practice-

1. I will hold a open discussion with the students about people in history
2.we will discussion what makes them famous
3.we will discuss what references we could use to research these people and what we could find out
 

D. Independent Practice-

1. I will let the students have library time for research.
2. the students will write a 3 page report on the person in history of their choice.
3. students will present reports to class in creative way.
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1. students may use props to help with presentation
2. reports must be hand written with a reference page
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1. the other students will fill out grade sheet on each report given
2. students must ask questions about each others reports
 

G. Closure-

I want the class to discuss interesting new facts they learned about all the people that were researched
 
7. Evaluation-
1. Each student will be graded on creativity, research, information in report
2. Students will be graded on preparations and class interaction.
 
8. Teacher Reflection-
My goal of this project is not only to get class to use research skills and writing skills but also to let the students see that historical figures such as Albert Einstein, Thomas edison, and Abraham Lincoln worked hard to get where they were in history. To show them that Thomas edison, a man who made great inventions that changed the world had trouble in school but worked hard To turn a hardship around.
