3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-

1. Review 64 important key people from throughout history.
2. Get students to be able to compare and evaluate historical impact.
3. Have students engaged and working on the last day of school. |

4. Objectives-
|
1. Students will be able to successful complete the tournament in
class.
2. Students will present their case on their assigned historical figure.
3. Students will be able to debate one another on the merits of historical
importance. |

6. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
1. The day prior to the tournament, students will be given a historical
person to research and create a 5 slide presentation on.
2. When students walk into class, I will announce the rules of tournament
and the procedures for the day.
3. Students will begin to present their figure, and then vote on the
winner. |

B. Development-
1.The very first presentation will be done by me on the day prior
so students know what to expect.
2. The first couple of rounds will go slower with explanations and
understanding for procedural understanding along the way. |
|
|
C. Practice-
Once the second round of the tournament is underway, I will step
back and allow the activity to be student centered. They will be responsible
for the procedure of it all. |
|
|
D. Independent Practice-
In the final round, students will write a one paragraph explanation
of who they think will win and why. |
|
|
E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
All IEP and 504s will be taken into understanding. |
|
|
F. Checking for understanding-
At the end of the tournament we will discuss biggest upsets and
if they agree with how things when. This will give them one final
time to talk about the topic. |

G. Closure-
The winner is announced and students are dismissed. |
|
|
7. Evaluation-
|
Students are evaluated several times throughout the lesson in addition
to the presentation PPT which is their grade for the day. |
