A. Introduction-

1.Introduce the map of Continental America
2.Ask students to bring in information about a product from somewhere in The Americas
3.Locate the region of origin for each product
 

B. Development-

Create a KWL Graphic Organizer for products
1.What do we know about the where the product came from?
2. What do we wonder about the region?
3.What did we learn about this product?
 

C. Practice-

Create a Concept Map for products
1.Students choose a product to focus on
2.Include information on how it is produced
3.Research the regions climate, soil type, water quality or other factors for production
 

D. Independent Practice-

1 Use a timeline for research and contributions
2.Allow time for students to work independently on the graphic organizers and concept map for the product
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1. Encourage students to bring in more than one product if possible
2. Allow students to work in small groups
