1. Students will learn the historical development of a county in
New Mexico
2. Students will learn how to present information using PowerPoint.
3. Students will be able to see the interdependence of all areas of
New Mexico. They really need each other. |

4. Objectives-
|
1. Students will produce a PowerPoint document that indicates their
knowledge of the subject matter.
2. Students will demonstrate their ability to analyze the material
and condense it to a PowerPoint slide.
3. Student will be able to express the information to the rest of
the class in an oral presentation, with accuracy and clarity. |

| Use of Computers and projectors for presentation. |

6. Procedures/Methods-
|

A. Introduction-
1. Students are presented with the project rubric and informational
material.
2. Directions given as to expectations

B. Development-
1. Layout sheets will be filled out laying out content of each slide.
2. A list of websites to start research will be given. |

C. Practice-
1. Students will do research on the computer seeking information
for the development of each slide.
2. Slides will be produced.

D. Independent Practice-
1. Students will practice presenting information to the class.
2. Students will present their information to the class.
3. Each student in the class will write a sentence about something
significant in that county on a map showing counties in New Mexico |

G. Closure-
1. Each student will turn in their county map.
2. We will discuss what was learned during this project. |
