Counterculture, Vietnam War, Tet Offensive, Hawks vs. Doves, Protest, Change, Johnson, Kennedy, Nixon, My Lai Massacre, Woodstock
 
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1.SWBA to identify cultural changes in the United States during the 1960s.
2.SWBA to explain how the Vietnam War impacted life on the home front.
3.SWBA to discuss the many ways in which Americans advocated for change in the 1960s.
 
4. Objectives-
1.Conduct through research on a topic from the Vietnam War and the 1960s.
2.Use my research to create a PechaKucha, or visual presentation, to share with the class.
 
5. Materials and Aids-
1. Internet with access for students
2. Google Classroom
3. Google Slides
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.Access prior knowledge - KWL
2.Present a PechaKucha to the class to model the final product.
 

B. Development-

1.Present an example to the class.
2.Allow students to conduct research and select a topic of focus on.
 

C. Practice-

1.Students will spend 3 class periods in the computer lab to complete research and create their visual presentation on their selected topic.
2. Students will use their research to select visuals to help them explain their topic to the class.
3. They will use these visual to create a Google Slides presentation that they will share within Google Classroom.
4. On day 4, students will present to their classmates.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.Research sources and script
2.Google Slides Presentation
3.Shared in Google Classroom for me to review before presentation day.
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1.Limiting number of slides needed.
2.Allow students to work with partners if needed.
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1.Students handed in scripts to show me what they have learned as they did their research.
2.Students practiced an peer reviewed before presenting to the entire class.
 

G. Closure-

Kahoot! to review topics discussed and check for understanding.
