the German citizens allowed the Nazis to get away with their treatment
of "undesirable" people

PowerPoint
Youtube (requires Internet, speakers, and computer) |
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-
Students will have to theorize what a German propaganda image from
a textbook means (there won't be any English text on it) |
Practice-
1. The PowerPoint will be walked through with the students and they
can copy down the slides but it isn't required
2. Afterward, one or both of the short videos will be played to demonstrate
the visual aspect of the propaganda that occurred during the period |
Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
1. Students requiring extra help will be helped by the special educator
in the room
2. During the PowerPoint, if a student needs a hard copy of the slides
instead of taking notes than that will be provided
Checking for understanding-
After the reading of the male text versus the female text, students
will be given time to ponder the provided question before a few are
called upon to answer one thing (each) that they noticed different
between the examples |
Closure-
Students will be asked to think about what they would do if the
same thing that happened in the 1930s in Nazi Germany happened in
the modern US. They will also be told to write down a few thoughts
about what they would do in that situation as it'll help them on the
homework. |
7. Evaluation-
The students will be given a written assignment for homework. It
includes readings from the packet (11 pages) and utilizes critical
thinking skills. |
