Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
Thought for the Day: Read about AIDS on the slide projector. How
do AIDS and the Black Death compare? How do society's views of both
diseases compare? |
|
|
B. Development-
1. PowerPoint Notes on the Black Death, the Hundred Years' War,
and Joan of Arc.
2. During notes, teacher will stop for Black Death activity: students
will stand beside their desks, and teacher will randomly choose 10-15
students to sit. This will demonstrate to students the numbers killed
during the Bubonic Plague. |

C. Practice-
Storybook Activity: Students will divide into self-made groups of
3-4. They will choose a topic from the Middle Ages and make their
own books using the rubrics as guidance. |
|
|
D. Independent Practice-
1. SWBAT identify Joan of Arc: question on the test.
2. SWBAT create their own summary of the Middle Ages: storybook activity. |
|
|
E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
1. First Period: notes posted online for IEP student (Henry), preassigned
group for IEP student (Henry)
2. Second Period: notes printed ahead of time for PEP student (Rhakeem)
and IEP student (Christina), translating device allowed for ESL students
(Ji-Yun, Rawan, and Razan) during their storybook creation
3. No accommodations for fourth period. |

Storybooks will be finished on Friday. |
