6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.Vocabulary game with words from the lesson.
2.Create and decorate a sailor hat.
3.Fill in the name of the person into the blanks.
 

B. Development-

1.Students will match the vocabulary words to their meaning using the colored pencils.
2.Each student will create and decorate their own sailor hat.
3.Students will use visual aids and fill in the name of each person under their matching picture and title.
 

C. Practice-

1.Pictures and clips of the pilgrims journey to the new world will be displayed on the projector.
2.Teacher will educate students on main topics, important places and names.
3.Teacher and assistant will assist students with step by step instructions on how to make sailor hats.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.Class discussions with question and answer sessions.
2.Take home flash cards with vocabulary words and their meanings.
3.Crossword puzzles to be completed in class.
