3. The students completes written notes that are refined and reduced
that summarize the chapter. |

6. Procedures/Methods-
|
|
A. Introduction-
| Power Point introducing quick summaries. |
| |
|
|
B. Development-
| Demonstration and explanation are given about how to properly take
notes and it is modeled using the first paragraph from the text for
the students. |

C. Practice-
| Students are placed in partners to read and take notes by refining
and reducing the information from the text. |
| |
|
|
D. Independent Practice-
| Students write at least one main idea at the bottom of their notes
to summarize one main idea that they read about. |

F. Checking for understanding-
1.Students will turn in their notes so that they can be reviewed
to make sure they are understanding and properly summarizing in their
notes.
2. As the students are working with partners the teacher will be able
to circulate throughout the room to check for understanding. |

G. Closure-
| Tell the students that tomorrow we will be beginning chapter 8
section2. |

7. Evaluation-
|
1.Students will be evaluated based on their work in partners as
the teacher wanders around from group to group.
2.Students will also be evaluated based on the completion of chapter
8 section 1 notes. |
