Textbook, laptop, projector, paper for Flashcards, map of Europe/world, chalkboard, chalk
 
Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.Pre-test to determine prior knowledge.
2.Reveiw of prior knowledge and discussion of what we will cover and what they would like to learn about W.W.II.
 

B. Development-

1.Mind map of prior knowledge & review of W.W.I terms
2.Vocabulary terms from section 1 & 2.
3.Video segment on rise of German Anti-Semitism
 

C. Practice-

1.Who's cards (leaders)
2. Discussion of each leader and their actions.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.Vocabulary terms
2.Group work covering the four leaders and creation of Whose's who card.
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1.Student's will be assigned to small groups based on their current grade and allowed to work on whose's who card's paired with higher level learners.
2.Assigning vocabulary and flash cards will help organize less proficient readers
3. I will post/or copy a map for each student to visualize where countries are located.
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1.The pre-test will allow me to see each student's prior knowledge of WWII and I can adjust instruction to insure I accommodation their current understanding.
1.Each group will write out their whose's who card on the board for the rest of the class to go over.
2.I will take up vocabulary as a homework grade at the end of the week.
3.I will quiz students over section 1 & 2 after discussing them in class.
 

G. Closure-

1.Student will view a map of Europe and Asia after section
2. They will notice the expansion of the Axis powers and discussion how U.S. reacted and should react.
 
Evaluation-
1.Completion of Whose's Who cards
2.Progress on quiz.
3. Understanding of vocabulary.
