6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

The first day of school before the day gets going I will introduce the lesson. I will write the song on the board first. Next I will point to the cubbys and show the students that they are a mess. I will ask the students what they think we should do to fix that. (respond to answers) then I will explain that every morning as they come in the door we will sing this song (point to board: (all class)Good morning, good morning. Good morning to you. (me)Hello _____) and as we do each student will go to his or her cubby and hang up their belongings.

1.Sing the song till we are pretty much in unison.
2. do a mock run through of the routine.

C. Practice-

1.Every morning we will practice the song as they come into the room.
2. To get the song down, we will also use the song at morning meeting.

D. Independent Practice-

At morning meeting, instead of me singing the song with them, they will sing the song and say the names as we go around the circle.

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1. For students with special needs, I or their aide will help them hang up their belongs.
2. Eventually, students will be expected to use the same routine (different song)in other aspects of the day. (ex. clean up time)
3. Advanced will be moved on sooner. Lower level learners will require more independent help.

F. Checking for understanding-

Each day those that have successfully done their job, will get a ticket to put in the jar to go towards the end of the week raffle.
