Given the Theme for the Week- "To Market, To Market," the children will state where people buy foods that come from a farm and recall various foods that animals and plants give us by participating in "I Do, We Do, & You Do" activities throughout the week.

A. Introduction-

WED- Read Big Book- "Apple Farmer Annie," Think/Talk Time * Let children help retell the story
THURS- Read "The Apple Dumpling," Think/Talk Time

*All Theme Related Books in White Basket
 

B. Development-

WED- Rhyme & Chant Poster 28 "A Very Nice Village" Have children repeat poem
THURS- "To Market, To Market" pg 121

*Words/Actions to Songs will be sent home
 

C. Practice-

WED- Interactive Site-
www.foodchamps.org- Play "Fruit/Veggie Match," & "Find all the Fruits/Veggies"
THURS- Interactive Site-
www.mypyramid.gov- Play "Blast Off" - a game about getting enough of the right foods for energy
 

D. Independent Practice-

WED- Each child will color & cut out his/her set of Apple Farmer Annie props to take home.
THURS- Each child will help in making and eating Apple Muffins- recipe in Big Book.
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

Teacher/Peer Modeling, Allow ample time to complete projects/activities, Assist as needed
 

F. Checking for understanding-

Teacher will ask questions throughout and encourage responses from each child to ensure understanding.
 

G. Closure-

The children will gather back to carpet each day to share/discuss their completed project.

Observation/Informal Assessments- inputting this information into- The Creative Curriculum Developmental Continuum for Ages 3-5 Program & into IEP Goals Chart for those children who have IEPs.
