6. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
"�Have students brainstorm a list of lesson components.
"�Consider yourself a teacher and think of all the things you will
need to have a successful lesson. Think of the specifics as well as
the obvious.
"�What are all of the parts of a lesson?

|
B. Development-
1. Review the list students compiled and facilitate discussion on
missed areas.
2. Discuss the importance of a well-planned lesson and the impact
it has on students and the classroom environment. For example, a well-prepared
teacher typically has fewer classroom management issues.
3.Distribute Lesson Plan Guideline handout.
4.The Lesson Plan Guideline describes each part of a lesson plan.
Review the handout section by section.

C. Practice-
As a group, practice writing objectives. Reflect on Bloom's Taxonomy
and refer to Harry Wong's First Days of School for action words.

D. Independent Practice-
In groups of two or three, have students select a very basic topic
and begin to construct a lesson on the skeleton handout.

|
E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

F. Checking for understanding-
Have groups share their lesson and facilitate discussion regarding
the accuracy.

Assign Lesson topics to groups for mini lessons
